Richard Alexander Ankiel is an outfielder in Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves. He bats and throws left handed.Ankiel was a member of the St. Louis Cardinals through the 2009 season. After honing his skills as a hitter and fielder in the minor league system, he was called up to the Cardinals 9 August and made his major league debut as an outfielder in right field against the San Diego Padres in St. Louis.
