Zack Snyder born Zachary Edward Snyder, 1 March 1966 is an American filmmaker, screenwriter and producer. He is co-founder of cruel and unusual film, a production company he founded in 2004, along with his wife Deborah Snyder and producing partner Wesley Colle. His last film was the Legend of the Guardian, published in September 2010.

Snyder went on to shoot, as a director and photographer, TV commercials for such clients as the car companies Audi, BMW, Subaru and Nissan, among others. Other commercial work has been for clients including Nike, Reebok, and Gatorade.
Zack Snyder is currently producing a film called Sucker Punch, which is scheduled for release 25 March 2011. The film is based on an original screenplay, written by Snyder and Steve Shibuya, about a mad young woman in a psychiatric hospital as she fantasizes escape with other inmates.
