Timothy J. Davlin was born August 27, 1957. He was mayor in the U.S. city of Springfield, Illinois, from April 2003 until his death in December 2010. Although the mayor's office is officially apolitical, the Illinois Capital a strong tradition of advocacy, even for municipal races and both major parties of the Sangamon County approves candidates. Davlin had the backing of the Democratic Party.
Davlin was under investigation for unpaid taxes because the IRS nearly $90,000. Davlin had also come under fire for false and misleading statements in his capacity as mayor.
Davlin was found dead at his home on the morning of 14 December 2010 in what was thought to be an apparent suicide from a gunshot wound is believed to be self inflicted. He was 53 years old. He had been scheduled to appear in court this morning in relation to the estate of her deceased cousin.
